21 Sharp: Winchester's New Rimfire

Winchester has designed the newest rimfire caliber in their new .21 Sharp. This cartridge uses a standard .22 Long Rifle case fitted with a .210 caliber bullet. This ammunition is loaded with bullets ranging from 25 to 42 grains with velocities of 1,300 FPS to 1,750 FPS.

We started to receive our first boxes of ammo from Winchester at the end of 2024. We have also seen several of Savage's new rifles chambered for it. While it has gained some interest in the store it is still to be seen just how well this new cartridge will do. While Winchester isn't trying to replace the reliable .22 LR we all know and love they are trying to cut out a niche for a new rimfire cartridge, and that may be tough to do.
